"Hello Gaspard, it's Jean Castex, the Prime Minister at the helm".
Yououtubeur and student Gaspard Guermonprez, alias Gaspard G, received a phone call from the head of government on Tuesday, January 26.
He had been contacted beforehand on Twitter by the entourage of the latter and therefore able to film this exchange and post it on social networks, says
La Voix du Nord
.
Jean Castex "moved" by his video
The Prime Minister wished to speak with him after seeing one of his videos on the discomfort of students since the start of the health crisis.
“I wanted to tell you that she moved me a lot.
I think it sums up a situation which is indeed difficult, ”Jean Castex told him before calling him directly.
“We took a whole series of measures.
(…) What more and better can I do to help?
I am here to act you see.
"
Gaspard G then expressed his astonishment at having seen the government communicate on the possibility for the students to return one day a week to class while a third confinement is looming.
"Even when we were confined, we were able to foresee a certain number of exceptions", replied Jean Castex, specifying that it was necessary, however, "to remain very careful".
He asks to make students a priority
The YouTuber then asked him to make this return to class a priority in the event of reconfinement.
“It would be interesting to say: 'You matter as much as the children, you matter as much as the working people.
The Prime Minister did not make any promises to him but offered to provide information regularly to "learn lessons".
Gaspard Guermonprez had published a video entitled “The best years of our lives” on YouTube on January 23 in which he notably relayed the testimonies of students in distress.
“Our future is tarnished, our dreams faded, our classes are canceled.
(…) If we have no hope, no prospect of the future when we are 20, then what do we have left?
He asked himself.
