The German vaccination commission said Thursday only recommends the Covid-19 vaccine from the British laboratory AstraZeneca for people under the age of 65 because of a lack of data for the elderly.

"AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine is currently recommended only for people aged 18 to 64," explains the Vaccination Commission (STIKO) in a document consulted by AFP.

This opinion specifies that "the data currently available are insufficient to evaluate the effectiveness of vaccines beyond 65 years".
