The Covid-19 vaccination campaign is already a logistical challenge on the continent.

So imagine the construction site on the islands.

With a week late, the vaccination of people over 75 has just started on the pebbles in Morbihan.

To avoid a long journey for the islanders, the health authorities decided to ship the doses by boat or helicopter in order to vaccinate them on the spot.

The campaign began Tuesday on the island of Arz with the vaccination of 77 people by mobile teams made up of firefighters and liberal health professionals from the islands.

Thursday and Friday, they will head to the islands of Houat and Hoëdic where a hundred vaccinations are scheduled.

More than 50,000 people vaccinated in Brittany

"In the short term, a mobile vaccination team from Morbihan should intervene on Île aux Moines, Groix and Belle-Ile," said the Brittany Regional Health Agency in a press release.

Since January 18, 48 centers have opened their doors on the continent in Brittany with 80,000 doses expected by the end of the month.

According to the latest count published on Monday by the ARS, 51,112 people have already received a first vaccine against the coronavirus in the region.
