A final tribute.

The funeral of Jean-Pierre Bacri, who died on January 18 from cancer, took place Tuesday at the crematorium of the Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris on Tuesday.

A ceremony celebrated in the strictest privacy.

The actress, author and director Agnès Jaoui, ex-companion of the actor, was present to honor the memory of her accomplice, whom she had described in an interview as a "soul mate".

Jamel Debbouze and Mélissa Theuriau, longtime friends, were also present.

They notably played together in 2018 in

Place Publique,

Agnès Jaoui's last feature film.

The death of Jean-Pierre Bacri sparked a wave of emotion among the French.

Several of his films, which were rebroadcast on television, broke audience records, proof of the public's attachment to the grumpy and tender-hearted French cinema.
