  The reporter learned today (January 27) from the Urban and Rural Water Affairs Bureau of Jinan City, Shandong Province: On January 26, some residents reported that some residents of Hongshan Shengdu and Shunxing Garden Community in Lixia District of Jinan had diarrhea and other symptoms.

After receiving the report, relevant departments of Jinan City immediately checked and investigated.

The staff of the water affairs department told reporters that the two communities share a set of water supply facilities. The self-built water supply facilities in this area are poorly managed, resulting in water pollution.

The water used by 784 households was affected.

The emergency water supply has delivered more than 150 cubic meters of water since January 26.

However, the number of residents in the two communities had diarrhea, the official figures did not give an explanation.

  After the incident, the Jinan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government immediately held a special meeting to instruct Lixia District, Jinan Water Affairs Bureau and other departments to quickly take measures to ensure the safety of residents' domestic water.

Actively treat and comfort residents with diarrhea and other symptoms, take temporary water supply measures to ensure basic domestic water for residents in the community, shut down all self-built water supply facilities in the area, comprehensively clean and disinfect the water supply network, organize lean forces to step up construction, and strive for 2- 3 days for the community to access municipal water supply.

At the same time, the relevant units and responsible persons will be investigated and accountable.
