Doctor warns of pain reliever medicines

A Russian doctor indicated the need to be careful when taking painkillers, because some cases have more harm than good for health.

He added that common pain relievers are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

According to him, these drugs do actually help relieve pain, but "they have a wide range of side effects," according to Russian media.

The doctor confirmed that among the side effects of these drugs are stomach bleeding, an increased risk of myocardial infarction, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.

He adds, "These drugs are generally prohibited for those over the age of sixty-five and those suffering from heart disease."

He advised that the composition of these medicines should be viewed before taking them, and these medicines should be taken with caution with other medicines, because some of them contain a “hidden” narcotic dose that could be harmful.
