The Order of Physicians on Tuesday asked to "speed up" the vaccination against Covid-19 for all caregivers "without age criteria or co-morbidities".

Objective: "to allow our health system to remain upright" as a new epidemic wave approaches.

"It is clear that the tension (...) will be very strong in the coming weeks," said the National Council of the Order of Physicians in a press release, worrying now about an increase in Covid-19 cases in doctors and other front-line health workers.

"This weakens, or even neutralizes, the patient care capacities", estimates the institution, which wants the vaccination of all caregivers "to be quickly implemented".

The injection is currently reserved for those over 50, or the youngest "at proven risk" (diabetes, obesity, hypertension ...), but the Order considers that "our vaccine strategy must be able to evolve to take account of changes. observed in the field ”.

"This protection is essential"

"This protection is essential to prevent the increase in contaminations of first-line caregivers from hampering the capacities of our health system", he adds.
