While many teachers and national education staff were on strike on Tuesday [for example, a thousand marched in the streets of Nantes] to demand better working conditions and more resources, the academic region of Pays-de -la-Loire unveiled the same day the changes in positions for the start of the 2021 school year. In total, 65 teacher recruitments are announced for September.

In the first stage (nursery and elementary), the rectorate plans to create 59 teaching posts in Pays-de-la-Loire, including 40 in the Loire-Atlantique department alone.

This is good news while, at the same time, the number of pupils expected in September would be down sharply (-2,539).

The objective would thus be "to continue the effort made in nursery school", to "limit the CP classes to 24 throughout the territory" and "to strengthen the rates of supervision in rural areas", according to the report. rectorate.

In the second degree (middle and high schools), the results are less encouraging since the creation of 16 teacher jobs is announced while more than 1,600 additional students are expected in the region.

Three departments (Maine-et-Loire, Mayenne, Sarthe) will lose positions while Loire-Atlantique, it will gain 43 to cope with the arrival of more than a thousand additional students.
