I am pleased to announce the validation of my candidacy for the Presidency of the African Football Confederation and Vice-Presidency of the International Football Federation by the FIFA Control Commission.

The Mauritanian Ahmed Yahya was one of the first to publicly rejoice that his file for the election of the boss of

CAF

, scheduled for March 12, 2021 in Rabat, has been approved by the umbrella body of world football.

The head of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania (FFRIM) was, along with the South African Patrice Motsepe, one of the two candidates, among the five initially declared,

to have seen his candidacy partially validated

by the Commission of governance of CAF, those of Augustin Senghor and Jacques Anouma having been accepted.

Yahya and Motsepe had a meeting on January 28 with the Governance Commission of CAF to clarify certain points in their respective paths.

The FIFA Control Commission, for its part, gave its approval to the participation of Jacques Anouma, Patrice Motsepe, Augustin Senghor and Ahmed Yahya in the vote to replace the Malagasy Ahmad.

An

Ahmad suspended for five years

from all football-related activity and who still hopes to be able to change his fate before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
