  • Health: Vaccine shortage, third wave, new variants of the virus: why it is difficult to vaccinate 70% of the population before the summer

Leaving aside the first wave that left terrible but hardly comparable figures (much less was diagnosed), the numbers of the third wave have long exceeded those of the second.

Until now it had been reflected in infections and hospitalizations, especially,

but it is already beginning to be noticed in the deceased

.

Sadly, according to the data published by Health, this Tuesday we have exceeded the record number of

daily deaths that was 537 (on November 24)

and we have registered 591 deaths in the last 24 hours (1,630 in the last seven days), which adds a total of 56,799 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

It is unfortunately to be expected that in successive days the number of deaths will exceed that figure.

A small slowdown is beginning to be noticed in other parameters

, which continue to grow but at a slower rate.

This is the case of the accumulated incidence (AI), which rises slightly compared to the previous day (884.70) and is close to 900 points: 893.91.

The situation is especially worrisome in some autonomous communities, with six of them easily exceeding the 1,000 threshold.

Extremadura continues to decline slowly and is no longer the first, but the fourth

(1,330.32) behind the Valencian Community (1,423.39, the one that grows more dangerously), Murcia (1,382.49) and Castilla y León (1,377.30 ).

They are followed by La Rioja (1,300.20) and Castilla-La Mancha (1,254.54).

Another seven more autonomies are above 600: Melilla (974.71), Madrid (962.45), Andalusia (913.83, has dropped two points), Aragon (759.73), Galicia (726.06) Balearic Islands (663.79, it has dropped about 25 points) and Catalonia (613.94, it has dropped about 20 points).

As for the number of daily infections,

the figure is high although it has decreased compared to the last days of the previous week

, when pandemic records were recorded.

This Tuesday stands at 36,435 new cases in 24 hours,

15,660 diagnosed the day before

(4,237 in Madrid, 2,598 in Catalonia and 2,149 in Castilla y León), which makes a total of 2,629,817 cases since the start of the pandemic.
