  • The company Altantique Boissons offers a destocking operation open to individuals on February 6 and 7.

  • This wholesaler normally supplies the drinks to restaurants and bars in the West, which have been closed for months.

  • The company, which employs 150 people in Rennes, Redon and Nantes, has lost 95% of its turnover.

The hangar is full but the order book is empty.

Since the first confinement and the closure of bars and restaurants, the company Atlantique Boissons has seen its turnover collapse.

“We lost 95% of our business,” explains the aptly named boss Jean-Jacques Barre.

Since he founded the company in 1978 with his brother, the Breton had never known such a mishap.

Since the second confinement, most of its 150 employees are on short-time working and are waiting for better days to return to the warehouse.

In apnea, Jean-Jacques Barre (do you have the reference?) Had the idea to open his warehouse in Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande, near Rennes, for a major destocking operation on February 6 and 7.

Usually reserved for professionals, the sale at reduced prices will this time be open to individuals.

80,000 to 100,000 bottles and barrels offered at discounted prices

For two days, the owner of Atlantique Boissons will sell at discounted prices the bottles he normally offers to cafetiers and restaurateurs.

A little wine, but mostly beers, including artisan references, and softs (sodas and juices) whose minimum durability date is soon due.

“There is no problem consuming them.

The taste may have changed a bit but that does not represent any danger, ”explains the boss.

For two days, 80,000 to 100,000 bottles and barrels will be offered at discounted prices to all those who come near the hangar.

The publication of a first article among our colleagues in

Ouest-France

suggests that many could knock on the door of the company on February 6 and 7.

"The hangar is 4,000 m² and we are working on a customer journey that allows to respect distancing and barrier gestures", continues Jean-Jacques Barre.

"Without a boost, it will become very complicated"

The operation will not allow the boss of Atlantique Boissons to get rich, just to afford a breath of fresh air in the middle of the storm he is going through.

“We have no visibility.

We provide some big events like Hellfest but we don't even know if it will hold.

It would hurt my heart to dump all these products ”.

Not eligible for government aid, his company located in Ille-et-Vilaine and Loire-Atlantique should now be able to claim it.

"Without a boost, it will become very complicated for us".

Destocking operation at Atlantique Boissons, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 6 and 7 at 76 boulevard de la Haie-des-Cognets in Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande.
