The Medicines Safety Agency has just published a report on the side effects of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Of the 400,000 people vaccinated at the time of the study, only 135 suffered side effects, in the vast majority of cases mild.

While the milestone of one million vaccinated was crossed on Saturday in France, many French people still express their reluctance.

Skeptics often point to the "lack of perspective" on this new vaccine and the potential adverse effects it could cause.

On this subject, the first report from the Medicines Safety Agency is reassuring.

Of the 400,000 people vaccinated at the time of the study, 135 suffered side effects, most of which were mild.

Most "non-serious" side effects

"We mainly have non-serious effects such as fever, headaches, muscle aches. Benign signs that we also meet with other vaccines", explains Dr. Joëlle Micallef, head of the pharmacovigilance center of Marseille , one of the two regional centers (CRPV) referring on the subject in France.

In contrast, 22 more serious cases were reported and 9 people died within hours or days of their vaccination, but no link between the vaccine and these deaths could be identified.

"We found that these were very old patients, who suffered from serious pathologies. When we dissect all that, we can not make any link between death and vaccination."

This first assessment is therefore "positive" for Dr. Micallef, who calls for the vaccination campaign to continue.
