Since then, the only significant information revealed by the studios had been the designation of Paul King, known for his work on

But things now seem to be clearer as a release date has just been announced, namely March 17, 2023 as revealed by Collider.

Now the bets are off on who will take over from Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp, each having played Willy Wanka, one in the original 1971 film and the other in the 2005 adaptation. This new film is expected to address the early years of the eccentric chocolatier and the creation of his famous factory.

The heart of the studios would capsize between Tom Holland or Timothée Chalamet for the main role.
