The founder and director of the festival, Amer Salmeen Al-Marri, confirmed that the momentum witnessed by the current session of the festival, despite the circumstances imposed by the pandemic on the world, reflects the determination and determination of the UAE to face all circumstances, and also reveals the makers of the UAE and the Gulf region. He added that «the festival was able to record a great challenge in this exceptional circumstance through the increase in the number of film participations from the last session by about 35%, in addition to attracting a group of local, Gulf, Arab and international films, and to attract five films nominated for the Oscar in 2021, including the Algerian film Heliopolis, which was shown at the opening of the festival with its first international screening, along with local and Gulf films that will be shown for the first time in a Gulf premiere.
