France 2 launches its new musical program on Saturday evening in prime time: "Symphonissime".
Presented by Stéphane Bern, it makes popular artists of all generations sing with a symphony orchestra.
The composer Yvan Cassar, who wrote all the arrangements for these new versions for the show, recounts this crazy bet on Friday in "Culture Médias".

65 musicians on stage
Yvan Cassar is a composer from classical music, but who has already worked with Mylène Farmer, Goldman, Aznavour, Céline Dion and Florent Pagny.
It is to him that we owe the orchestration of Johnny Hallyday's concerts at the Stade de France in 1998, and many subsequent concerts.
"The principle of the show is variety, great songs, but also songs, more recent hits, all revisited with a symphonic orchestra.
Symphonissime
is live music with 60 to 65 musicians on stage at the same time ", summarizes Yvan Cassar.
The composer had to rearrange all the songs of the artists for the orchestra.
"Give a different light to a recent tube"
The musical evening of France 2 begins with
Beau Papa
de Vianney,
Je m'voyais already
, taken over by Dany Brillant and a duet between Elodie Frégé and Ben on
La belle vie
.
But one of the most modern and captivating arrangements is undoubtedly that
of Julien Doré's
La Fever
.
"It's interesting to show that, on a recent hit, you can also work with an orchestra and give it a different light", explains Yvan Cassar.
On this track, Julien Doré first sent him ideas for arrangements, on which the composer bounced back.
"That's the whole story of this show: meetings between artists, who work together to do the best possible."
Symphonissime
is broadcast Saturday evening at 9 p.m. on France 2.
