" We are here.

We're listening to you.

We believe you.

And you will never be alone again, ”Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday to the victims of sexual violence against minors, in a video posted on his Twitter account.

“These testimonies, these words, these cries, no one can ignore them anymore.

Against sexual violence against our children, it is now up to us to act, added the Head of State, while the debate on incest has resurfaced in recent days after the publication of a book by Camille Kouchner.

Shattered lives in the sanctuary of a child's room.

Stolen childhoods on family vacations, or times that should have been innocent and led to the worst.

Today, the word is free.

Thanks to courage.

"Shame today changes sides", continued Emmanuel Macron, welcoming that "the word, everywhere in France, is free" and that "the silence built by criminals and successive cowardice, finally, explodes".

"We will not give the aggressors any respite, none," he said.

"We need to punish the criminals for their past acts and to prevent any recidivism."

A consultation for proposals

In addition, "we must adapt our law to better protect children victims of incest and sexual violence," said the Head of State, indicating that he asked the Minister of Justice, Eric Dupond-Moretti, and Secretary of State for Children and Families, Adrien Taquet, "to conduct a consultation which should quickly lead to proposals".

He announces that "two screening and prevention meetings against sexual violence against children - one in primary school, the other in college - will be set up for all, in the cycle of existing compulsory medical visits".

In addition, to “support reconstruction”, “psychological care for children victims of sexual violence will be reimbursed”.

Emmanuel Macron also indicates that a mission to “collect testimonies and protect victims” is entrusted to Edouard Durand, children's judge, and Nathalie Mathieu, director of a specialized association.
