Dudenverlag has got into a difficult position.

Since it became known that the Duden editorial team on www.duden.de redefined gender-neutral words such as teachers, pupils and tenants to designations for “male people”, the criticism has not stopped.

Linguists, German scholars, writers, the press and the public make serious accusations against the publisher and see its reputation as damaged.

Can Dudenverlag get out of this misery? There would indeed be a solution and it would be easy to follow.
