A few days before the planned entry into force of a new corona regulation, around 1000 people demonstrated against the anti-corona rules in Erfurt.
According to a spokeswoman for the police, the maximum possible number of participants of 1000 according to the applicable regulation was reached on Saturday.
Other participants were rejected by the police.
500 participants were registered.
According to the police, there have been isolated violations of the requirements for the gathering - for example against the obligation to wear a mask.
Thuringia is currently the country with the largest number of infections nationwide.
A new regulation is to be published on Monday, which provides for more stringent measures against the spread of the coronavirus in Thuringia.
This includes, among other things, an obligation to wear medical masks in buses and trains as well as in public buildings.
It is planned that the regulation will come into force on Tuesday.
