Senegal: abandoned for years, audiovisual archives are getting a makeover

Under the aegis of the Senegalese Cinematography Department, Italian historian Marco Lena and video artist Tiziana Manfredi have embarked on painstaking work to restore some 400 reels of audiovisual archives selected from over 6,000 found.

In December and for the first time, the fruit of their work was exhibited in Dakar on the occasion of various cultural events.
