In response to the anti-epidemic call for local Chinese New Year, a newlywed couple, Yu Molin and Hongli, officials from Baicheng County in Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang, gave up going home for the New Year and held a “cloud” wedding online.

On the day of the wedding, the bride and groom put on national costumes and kowtowed their heads to their parents in the distance through video connection, sending blessings to each other.

The groom Yu Molin is a cadre from Toksun Township, Baicheng County. He told reporters that the two of them met through a social event held in the county, and they finally fell in love. In September 2020, the lovers received a marriage certificate.

The two originally planned to return to their hometown for the wedding during the Spring Festival. Because of the special needs of epidemic prevention and control, the two decided to hold a "cloud" wedding without a wedding car, no emcee, and no guests on site.

Bride Hongli told reporters that the idea of holding a "cloud" wedding has been supported by both parents. Although there is no wedding dress or dress, this wedding still becomes their most special memory.

On the wedding day, the newlyweds also came to Baicheng Red Stone Forest Scenic Spot together to take pictures and pray for the beautiful red stone forest to become the "witness" of the wedding.
