A whole section of French cinema went away with Rémy Julienne, who died of Covid-19 on the night of Thursday to Friday at the hospital in Montargis (Loiret).
Among all the tributes to the former stuntman with 1,400 productions, 90 years old, that of the Cinémathèque de Toulouse has a particular resonance.
Since 2017, the establishment of the Pink City has kept the archives of a career that began in cinema with
André Hunebelle's
Fantomas
in 1964.
It is essentially “filmed trials of staging stunts”, details the Cinémathèque, closed until further notice due to the health crisis.
“By revealing the hidden face of this technical part of cinema, this collection constitutes a unique heritage spanning nearly 50 years of cinema.
"
Rémy Julienne was still present in Toulouse last September.
In 2017, the Cinémathèque paid him a vibrant tribute during the “Histoires de cinéma” festival.
