During this second day, Morocco, defending champion, tried to take advantage of this meeting in Douala against Rwanda to seize the first ticket for the quarter-finals.
Dominators against Togo (1-0) for their entry into the running, the Atlas Lions had wasted a lot of opportunities.
Faced with Rwanda who had drawn in their first outing against Uganda (0-0), the Moroccans did not show much in the first period with no shot on target despite superior ball possession but visibly sterile.
The two teams returned to the locker room with a blank score.
Back on the lawn, the Moroccans push and Ayoub El Kaabi, top scorer (9 goals) and player of the previous edition, strikes from the left at the entrance to the penalty area.
The leather is stopped by the Rwandan goalkeeper (51st).
But then, the Moroccans can not find the loophole and must be satisfied with a draw.
Rwanda wins a precious point that allows him to hope for a validation in quarters while Morocco must be very disappointed.
