[Explanation] The nail phototherapy machine emits blue light beams. A girl is choosing colors from dozens of bottles of different nail polishes, and another girl is pasting nail polishes... At first thought, she entered the nail salon, but this is actually Lanzhou Jiaotong University has a class on the making of Dunhuang painted craft plates.

A few days ago, Liang Yan, an associate professor at the School of Art and Design of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, introduced the origin of this class to a reporter from China News Agency in her college.

She said frankly that the Dunhuang colored painting craft plate making course is a practical operation subject for art students of Lanzhou Jiaotong University. It extracts the Dunhuang algae pattern and uses the brittle drawing process of ceramic glass to develop and draw colored painted crafts.

8-64 credit hours are offered in a semester. Through learning and practical operations, students independently complete their works as a final assessment. The purpose is to explore local culture and develop trendy art.

The main reason for everyone to practice is to harmonize colors. The patterns we will use are mainly the patterns of Dunhuang Zaojing and the forms that will use mandala. At that time, we thought because our art college has a small electric kiln. We think it might be better to paint on ceramic paints, but because of the limitations of various conditions, the kiln change of the burned color is not easy for us to control. When we paint with nail polish, our plates will be more even , This is the best effect among all the paints we have tried.

[Explanation] At first, the students used acrylic paint to paint, but the cheap raw materials were not bright enough. Later, after continuous exploration and accidental discovery, they used nail polish instead to make the colors bright and beautiful.

This is also the one we found with no opinion. Before, we also liked the nail polish on the nails, so we tried it and applied the nail polish to a small area on the plate, and then baked it dry. Later, I found that this thing is quite durable, and it is not easy to fall off. We painted some algae patterns on the plate and used nail polish to paint it. I felt that the effect was still good. Dunhuang algae patterns are for Gansu. It is representative.

[Explanation] In recent years, the School of Art and Design of Lanzhou Jiaotong University has been deeply rooted in local culture, established an art design practice education base, Dunhuang art innovation and entrepreneurship base, and developed special experimental projects for local cultural inheritance and innovation, effectively overcoming industrial design standards. The problem of "talking on paper" in chemical and experimental teaching.
