India: Fire in the World's Largest Vaccine Institute

A fire broke out today, in the largest institute of vaccine production in India and the world, "Serum Institute of India", as pictures broadcast on local television showed, but the media indicated that the production of vaccines against Covid-19 was not affected.


Indian TV footage showed a huge cloud of gray smoke over the institute's Serum site in Pune (West), where millions of doses of the "Coffeeshield" vaccine, developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, are currently being produced to combat Covid-19.
