[Explanation] Sharing cars, sharing power banks, sharing bicycles... But have you ever heard of "sharing grandma"?

In Jifu Community, Jinyang Street, Wuhou District, Chengdu, Sichuan, there are more than 20 elderly people who use their free time to help take care of the children who lack company due to their busy parents' work. They are called "shared grandmothers."

[Explanation] Recently, at the gate of a kindergarten in Jifu Community, several "shared grandma" are holding the "shared grandma receiving card" waiting for the community to "distribute" their children.

In addition to taking on the task of picking up children from school, "shared grandmothers" have to accompany their children to do homework, eat dinner, and play games before their parents pick them up.

The "Sharing Grandma" project started in the summer of 2019.

So far, there are more than 20 "(shared) grandma" in our community, covering 25 communities in our entire Jifu community.

The "Sharing Grandma" project is mainly to take care of each other between the elderly and the children as the entry point, starting from the actual needs of the residents, and encouraging (elderly) residents through a display of "big hands holding small hands" Get out of the house.

[Explanation] As an "empty nest old man" with no children and grandchildren around, the 67-year-old Zhang Huiying has found the warmth and learning that she lacks in daily life in the interaction with the children since she participated in the "Sharing Grandma" project in 2019 power.

By doing "Sharing Grandma" (work), I feel that in fact, I have benefited a lot.

First of all, I am more happy physically and mentally, and a kind of motivation forces me to study.

I used to feel that we are all retired and we don’t need much (study) anymore. We are just satisfied with this status quo.

I think it is a win-win situation. Although I helped others (bringing children), it actually spurred me to learn and increase my knowledge.

[Explanation] Similar to Zhang Huiying's feelings, 67-year-old "Sharing Grandma" Zhu Zeyun not only became fulfilled in his life, but also gained a sense of happiness and accomplishment from the process of contact with the child.

With these children, I feel that I am much younger, and it gave me motivation and urged me to learn.

Because children ask some questions, we still can't answer them. Sometimes we still need to learn online and explain them to them.

There are also those dolls. When he hugs you and yells to grandma, he feels really sweet and warm in his heart.

[Explanation] For community resident Yi Qin, taking care of two children at the same time made her unable to work stably for a long time.

Since the community has "shared grandma", what makes her happy is not only that the children are helped to take care of them, but more importantly, it has made up for the lack of growth of the children without the company of the elderly.

For example, if we hold a meeting or overtime, we will not affect our work because of the problem of rushing to pick up children.

After the children participated in the "Sharing Grandma" project, they learned a lot from "Sharing Grandma", such as being more grateful and polite.

Because the grandma usually cooks some dinner for them, teach them to eat (let) the elders of the family first, take the initiative to draw chopsticks, and do something within their power.

Children who do not often live with their grandparents may not learn much in this area.

[Explanation] Although "Sharing Grandma" Huang Meiying is 80 years old, she still looks very energetic.

Before retiring as a doctor, she often explained how to prevent and treat the new crown pneumonia epidemic to children.

In addition, she also created a lot of short stories, so that the children can cultivate the honorable character of labor, respect the old and love the young while listening to the stories.

I am very proud of the title of "Sharing Grandma".

I have retired for more than 20 years, and I can still play the remaining heat for the society, and I can also share with young parents and children.

In this "shared grandma", I have gained a lot.

Pass on my own life insights to the children so that they can grow better.

I want to thank "Sharing Grandma" for reading a book with us and washing fruits for us.

"Sharing Grandma" you have worked hard, thank you for playing with us.
