The fashion magazine "Vogue" has given in after the controversy surrounding the cover picture, which showed the new US Vice President Kamala Harris.

The magazine announced a limited edition February issue with a photo of Harris in a formal pose wearing a blue pants suit.

To “celebrate this historic moment”, a limited edition will be released on the day of the inauguration, said “Vogue” on Twitter.

In addition, she posted the picture that, according to matching media reports, had originally been selected by Harris' team as the cover image.

On the cover that was published first, Harris was seen standing casually in a blazer and sneakers against a pink-green background.

Numerous users in the social networks had found the admission of the 56-year-old to be disrespectful or technically inferior and therefore unsuitable for the title portrait of the most powerful woman in the country.

Vogue said the editorial team chose the more informal photo because it emphasized Harris' authentic and accessible character.
