The first squalls were felt on Tuesday evening.
Météo France placed three departments on orange vigilance (level 3 out of 4) on Wednesday due to strong gusts of wind.
These are the Rhône, the Loire and the Haute-Loire where gusts of up to 100 km / h or even 120 km / h are expected.
Particularly in the Gier valley, Pilat and the Lyon area.
"The border part with the North Isère, as well as the east of the department of Haute-Loire can also be concerned by strong gusts", warns Météo-France thus evoking a "strong winter storm".
And to add: "On the plateaus of the east of Haute-Loire, the gusts will also exceed 100 km / h".

Second episode Thursday
The meteorological body evokes a "succession of gales" which should cross France in the coming days.
“We must expect strong gusts on the Pyrenean ridges, on the Massif Central, as well as from the Rhône valley to the Saône valley (as far as Bresse), where peaks will be around 100 km / h.
"
Next night, the storm could move to the Channel coast and the north-western third of the country, then along the Atlantic.
