The back photo of Dalian volunteers became popular after 12 years

Our reporter talks to the protagonist An Lei

Recently, a volunteer in Dalian took two back photos taken at the reconstruction site of Shifang after the Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan in 2008, and two back photos of the anti-epidemic in Jinpu New District, Dalian, Liaoning in January 2021. The backs accidentally overlapped the popular network.

On January 19, An Lei, the protagonist in the photo, told reporters from Beijing Youth Daily that he has been volunteering for 12 years since he assisted Shifang City in 2008. The two photos were taken by workers and volunteers. Friend of, he just wanted to keep it as a commemorative at first, but the photo attracted attention online.

An Lei is a fishery ship inspector at the Transportation Bureau of Jinpu New Area. After work, An Lei devoted almost all of his time to volunteer work. From 2008 to the present, in the 12 years, An Lei has not only participated in Shifang after the Wenchuan earthquake. Reconstruction will also invest a lot of time and money every year to help children and the elderly in difficulties.

After the outbreak in Dalian, An Lei immediately devoted himself to volunteer work, responsible for the delivery of materials and the transfer of close contacts.

In January this year, a foreign truck driver Master Wu was trapped in Dalian. After the local volunteers in Dalian found out, they collected a batch of self-heating meals for Master Wu, and An Lei was responsible for delivering the self-heating meals to Master Wu.

During the meal delivery process, An Lei and a friend who was also a volunteer said that they wanted to take a video as a memento, so the friend helped An Lei take a back view video.

After the video was filmed, An Lei didn't pay much attention until the local Dalian reporter Lai Qingxin who had known An Lei for ten years saw the video.

"After seeing the video, I suddenly thought of the back photo of the construction aided in Shifang that he showed me when I first met him." An Lei, reminded by Lai Qingxin, found out the work done by a worker 12 years ago. Help with the photos taken.

"As soon as we compared it, the screenshot in the video was surprisingly similar to the photo taken in Shifang. Thinking of An Lei's continuous voluntary work for more than ten years, I felt very touched, so I interviewed him, and The two photos were put together to make a news picture." Lai Qingxin said.

Beiqing Daily: When and under what circumstances was the first photo taken?

An Lei: After the Wenchuan earthquake in May 2008, I learned about the Wenchuan earthquake in the TV news and I had the idea of going to help, but I have been suffering from the lack of voluntary channels.

At the beginning of June, after I heard that Dalian's counterpart aided in the construction of Shifang, Sichuan, I decided to go to Shifang as a volunteer.

My job at the time was to manually unload the building materials from the train and move them to the truck to build simple houses.

Basically, 100 to 200 building materials will be moved a day, and it is normal to move 200 building materials for five or six hours.

The first photo wearing "earthquake relief" work clothes was also accidentally taken by workers at that time.

Beiqing Daily: Under what circumstances was the second photo taken?

An Lei: There is actually an interesting story behind the shooting of the second photo wearing isolation suit. Friends who were volunteers at that time said that I was much fatter than before and could hold up the entire protective suit.

I wrote "Kinpu, come on" on the back of the protective clothing, and when I delivered meals to the trapped driver, I asked my friend to help me shoot a video. I wanted to keep it as a memorial to prevent and control the epidemic. At the reminder of my friend, I accidentally discovered that a frame in the video overlapped with the background 12 years ago.

Beiqing Daily: After the back photo became popular, some netizens praised the photo, and some netizens questioned the photo or posing for it. What do you think of this?

An Lei: I didn't expect the back photo to become popular.

After my friend reminded me, I just thought it was very interesting. I first posted a set of pictures in my circle of friends, with the text "12 years of reincarnation, the same back view, the same positive energy." I really did not expect to attract everyone’s attention. It also entered the sight of the masses and became a "net celebrity."

I also read the comments made by netizens. Some people think it’s a photo shoot. I think all people have their own opinions. I think it’s really boring to do photo shoots on the front line of earthquake relief and epidemic fighting. Who can do it in 2008? Did you know that there will be a new crown epidemic in 2020?

There is no need to use disasters or epidemics to self-hype, this is completely meaningless.

Beiqing Daily: What kind of volunteer work did you do during the Dalian epidemic?

An Lei: After the diagnosis of a new coronary pneumonia patient in Dalian, I, who lives in Jinzhou, felt that there was something to be done, so I contacted the relevant department. Under the arrangement of the relevant department, I started to dispatch vehicles to transport the close contact to the isolation point. work.

This work is one of heavy workload, and the other is that the transshipment personnel are more complicated, including the elderly and children, so we must deal with the appeals of some mass hotlines in time.

Beiqing Daily: In addition to the Shifang aid and the Dalian epidemic, what have you done in your 12-year volunteer work?

An Lei: I have been involved in volunteer work since I returned from Shifang.

Among them, from 2013 to 2016, I participated in the local volunteer association in Dalian.

For so many years, I have been paying attention to the needy groups, and also collecting donations for many children suffering from leukemia, brain cancer, cerebral palsy and other diseases but unable to treat them.

I hope to use my power to help more people.
