Since getting in touch with some trapped people underground on January 17, a steady stream of supplies have been transported to the Qixia Hushan Gold Mine, and the physical strength of the underground personnel is recovering.

Song Xicheng, deputy head of the medical treatment team of the accident and deputy director of Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital, said in an interview with the media on the morning of January 19 that the rescue scene has assembled medical experts in various aspects including psychology and nutrition, and there are 25 ambulances. The vehicle and more than 80 ambulance personnel are on standby at any time.

The rescue team also arranged psychological counseling experts to counsel the miners through telephone and other forms.

Experts from the National Health Commission will also arrive at the scene to optimize the current medical assistance program.

He said that the trapped miners in the mine had passed the message “want to eat pickles, millet porridge, and eat ham”. However, considering that the trapped people lacked food for a long time, it takes time for the gastrointestinal to recover. Currently, nutrient solutions are still the mainstay. In the next step, a specific plan will be formulated according to the needs of the miners. A small amount of millet oil from millet porridge was also put in the morning.
