Bi Yong, 62, is a retired teacher in Xinshao County, Hunan Province. Since 2003, he has donated blood for 78 times, with a total blood donation of 25,300 ml, equivalent to the total blood volume of 5 adults.
In 2020, he won the National Gold Award for Free Blood Donation.
"Every blood donation may save a life." In order to allow more people to join the blood donation team, Bi Yong often mobilized volunteers in schools and hospitals to make more than 50 volunteers become blood donation activists.
He also pulled his two sons into the blood donation team. His younger son, Bi Zhigang, has donated 10 times, 2,700 ml.
