Actor Jean-Pierre Bacri died on Monday from cancer, at the age of 69.

Jean-Pierre Bacri, a key figure in French cinema, died this Monday, January 18 at the age of 69, from cancer.

 the actor gave an interview to Europe 1, in which he assured that nothing predestined him at the time to do this job.

"I had no calling or vocation," he confided in the program

The attraction for women at the origin of his choice

"I became an actor completely by scheme, by chance," he recalled.

At 25, he had indeed joined a drama class with a fairly specific goal in mind, and not necessarily that of becoming an actor: "We want to have lots of girls when we are young and in a dance class. drama you can't beat because it's all there is to it. "

Finally, Jean-Pierre Bacri had not met only girls there.

"We know lots of people, we make friends. My best friends are people I met in drama lessons, like Grégoire Oestermann," he confided.

"It was an adventure that I lived which made me become an actor".

"I wanted to be a French teacher" 

But younger, Jean-Pierre Bacri saw himself exercising a completely different profession: "I wanted to be a French teacher and I still want to. I love this job."

But, as he said then, he had managed to find a link between the two professions: "The drama course gave me the love of great texts. I had read four books and I discovered everything. at the same time, Shakespeare, Molière… "" That's why I continue to want to be a French teacher, "he said with a smile.

In view of his career, he finally made the right choice.
