"On January 18 in the afternoon in the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean near the coast of Kamchatka, a dangerous wave of 8-9 meters is expected," the Kamchatka Hydrometeorological Center said in a statement.
It is noted that the phenomenon will last until January 19.
Earlier, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 was recorded in the east of Kamchatka.
