Egyptian journalist Bassem Youssef described his new program, which will be launched on "Al Sharq News" TV, entitled "Ask Basem", as a continuation of his journey that he started seven years ago with "Plan B" and the transition to the vegetarian system, in which he helped people change their lifestyles, He said that it was a personal experience, but it gave him a feeling of difference on the health level.

In his interview with Emirates Today, Youssef pointed out that he worked to expand the circle of this experiment that he launched through a private channel and website, to reach today a television platform for the first time in the world, not just the Arab world. “This specialized program is a new experience, and it will expand in Answer people's questions and criticisms about this diet. ”

Regarding the transition to the vegetarian system and how the experience was reflected in it, Youssef pointed out that it “carried a lot of difference in the shape, sensation, energy, sleep and health in general,” explaining that he “cares about this lifestyle to face the chronic diseases that are present in all families, starting with cholesterol. Down to pressure and diabetes, and this is due primarily to the lifestyle and the food system. ”Therefore, the program, as it was described, will bring it closer to people and enable it to answer all their questions as well as present their criticisms and answer them.

As for the program's association with the Coronavirus, Youssef emphasized that he worked to present the meat industry in general in one of the episodes, and the episode will present the reasons for the emergence of many problems on the planet since the beginning of climate change, to the emergence of diseases, epidemics and pollution, as it “will not present the talk about the (Corona) pandemic. "It will be exposed directly to all causes of pollution and climate change."

On the experience of moving from political content to health and the audience's interaction with it, especially since he achieved a mass base of political programs, Youssef emphasized that the political content has not changed for him, as he is still presenting this content in America, but as a citizen living in the United States, explaining that the program that he will not be able to Submitting it in Egypt will not present it anywhere else, because submitting it from outside Egypt will expose him to many accusations, the most prominent of which is that it is funded by specific parties, stressing that when he is able to present it in Egypt, he will re-submit it, considering the return of the program is something out of his control now.

He also considered that his experience as Bassem Youssef is not limited to political programs, as this experience is part of everything that he presents in his life, as he works on writing books and presenting programs and stand up comic programs, and the political program is part of his life, refusing to be crammed into his framework only, indicating that he When he is unable to present it, he will present many things, such as this new program, and if there is a class of the audience that you can only find within the framework of this program, "it is the problem of the people and the public, not his personal problem," according to Youssef.

Regarding the experiences of the satirical programs that are filmed in Egypt and displayed on social media platforms, he noted that they differ from the programs shown on the channels, and he also indicated that the standards of the channels' programs must apply to them, that is, they are presented from inside Egypt, otherwise they will be subject to the same evaluation.

And he considered that there is a price to be paid for anything that a person does, regardless of the difference in his project. The food program has caused him a wave of criticism that exceeds the one he was exposed to with the political program.

Youssef talked about his experience with "Al Sharq News" and said: "My experience with Al Sharq is great and this channel provided the opportunity to introduce a new movement in the world of media to reach a greater number of people through events on the ground. We will reach people, governments and medical institutions, and the thought has changed. People in the field of health and diet, since years ago these experiences were rejected, but today the public is more accepting of these ideas. ”

As Youssef continues his life in America, he said that he will have many visits to Dubai to shoot episodes and present events.

As for the experience of "Corona" and how it affected it, he pointed out that it is "a difficult experience, and many events and activities that I was supposed to present have been canceled due to the pandemic, but there is an attempt to return, and despite the difficulties there was an opportunity to start new projects, including this program (Ask Bassem ) ».
