  • The police interrupted a clandestine party at around 10 p.m. on Saturday evening in which 200 partygoers participated in a room located in the suburbs of Grenoble.

  • Three people were taken into custody.

  • 38 others were fined for not wearing a mask.

The police put an end, Saturday evening, to a clandestine evening gathering nearly 200 participants in the suburbs of Grenoble despite the curfew at 6 p.m. in force.

38 of them were fined for not wearing a mask and 3 people were taken into custody, we learned this Sunday morning from the prosecution.

It is a local resident, neighbor of the premises, who first contacted the police around 9:35 pm to complain of "a noise" near an association room located in the town of Saint-Martin-d'Hères.

Two police officers "jostled" and "trampled"

On the arrival of several police crews, who came to lend a hand to the patrol dispatched to the site, things got worse, says the prosecution.

"A majority of the participants seemed to be alcoholic," explains Eric Vaillant, the public prosecutor of Grenoble.

Quickly, some of the individuals showed themselves hostile to the current intervention by forcing the police cordon ”.

Two officers were thus "jostled" and "trampled" by the participants even if their injuries were slight.

But their colleagues used their tear gas canisters to help them.

One of the party-choppers, suspected of having beaten the two police officers, was arrested and taken into police custody in the evening for willful violence and contempt of persons holding public authority and provoking rebellion.

The alleged organizer and the DJ taken into custody

Among the other people placed in police custody, is the alleged organizer of the evening.

A man, born in 1984, who is a tenant of the premises where the party took place.

He risks being prosecuted for endangering the lives of others.

The 36-year-old DJ was also taken into police custody for the same reasons and was in possession of several narcotics, including LSD and amphetamines, the prosecution said.

His sound equipment was seized by the police and placed under seal.

The investigation, entrusted to the Sûreté de l'Isère, is continuing.
