Due to prejudice and discrimination among an arbitrator of the International Court of Arbitration for Sports, the Swiss Federal Supreme Court decided to revoke the International Court of Arbitration for Sports against Chinese swimmer Sun Yang. With an 8-year ban, the International Sports Arbitration Tribunal needs to form a new arbitration team to make a new judgment.
On December 24, 2020, the Swiss Federal Supreme Court issued a press bulletin announcing the cancellation of Sun Yang's suspension from the International Sports Arbitration Court, but did not disclose the reason.
This communiqué is the first time the Swiss Federal Supreme Court has announced the reasons for reversing the above-mentioned judgment.
