On January 15, according to the Hong Kong police, on November 11, 2019, someone set fire to a dissident on a pedestrian footbridge in Ma On Shan, causing serious burns to the victim.
After in-depth investigation, the police identified the two men involved and found that they had escaped overseas by plane. The two suspects are now wanted by the police.
The investigation also revealed that the departure tickets of the two wanted men were purchased by two other men.
Therefore, the police arrested the two men on January 14 for the crime of "assisting the fugitive".
