The junior competitions, in the Fazza Championship for Falconry "Al Talwah", attracted large numbers of participants with 229 birds in the eight rounds, which were held the day before yesterday, in Dubai.

Suad Ibrahim Darwish, Director of the Championships Department at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, confirmed that “the junior competitions are of special importance for those in charge of the tournament, as they contribute to refining the skills of the new generation, which is what we are proud of in the championship that has known over 19 years the participation of falconers when they were young Age, before they progress and participate and achieve victories in the main rounds of adults ».

For his part, the head of the organizing committee of the tournament, Damithan Bin Sweidan, said, “The development of the performance of young falconers, and their commitment to the instructions and skills that they develop every year, is a positive message that gives us the motivation to continue the work that we have started for decades, to preserve the legacy of our parents and grandparents, And transfer it to the children ».

For his part, Rashid Hamdan bin Mejren (seven years), who won in two games, said that he attended the competitions accompanied by his brothers and cousins, who are also skilled in dealing with falcons.

He stressed that he is happy to participate in his love for this sport, as after performing his homework he is keen to learn the skills of dealing with falcons, wishing to become an experienced falconer in the future.

While Khalifa Khaled Al-Huraiz (13 years), who won first place in the third half, said that he has been keen to participate in the championship since 2013, when he was only six years old.

He added, "I started getting acquainted with falcons at the age of four, as my father taught me how to do this. I have not missed participating in any version of the tournament since 2013, and I always try to win and get the best positions."

Khalifa added, "The championship has developed a lot ... and I want to continue moving forward with the falconry march, learning more and competing in the upcoming tournaments."

While Maryam Al Ketbi (10 years old) expressed her happiness for being part of this heritage festival, adding: "My sisters, Afra, Hessa and Sheikha, have participated in the youth competitions for years, and we have achieved the dream of winning."
