Vaccination. Spain 'picks up pace' and vaccinates more than 90,000 people a day
Distribution: Health will give priority to the Autonomous Communities that have vaccinated the most due to the reduction in shipments from Pfizer
Third wave: Spain adds a new record of coronavirus infections (40,197) and reaches a cumulative incidence of 575, the highest of the pandemic
The third wave of
coronavirus
continues to be unstoppable in Spain with a record accumulated incidence of 575 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, and the pressure is growing for the Government to tighten restrictions, with the advance of the curfew or through home confinements.
Not only is there concern about the evolution of infections in Spain (a 168% increase in the last week) but also about the vaccination rate, just when Pfizer announces delays in the delivery of new doses, and about the appearance of new strains in the world, from the United Kingdom to South Africa, passing through the Brazilian Amazon.
The WHO asks that in "100 days" the vaccination of the coronavirus be generalized and maintain physical and social distancing because "the virus is exploiting our lack of commitment, our fatigue."
It also has the last hour of the coronavirus of Andalusia, Valencian Community and Catalonia.

07.43 Confirmed cases of coronavirus in Germany increase by 18.678
The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Germany increased by 18,678 to 2,019,636, according to data this Saturday from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases, Reuters reports.
The number of
reported deaths increased by 980
in a single day to 45,974 since the start of the pandemic, according to the tally.
The high figures "could be due in a small part to the appearance of variants (more contagious) of the virus, but to a large extent they have occurred because we are reducing physical and social distancing," the director of Health Emergencies of the WHO, Mike Ryan.
"With our behavior we are not breaking the chains of transmission and the virus is exploiting our lack of commitment, our fatigue," said Ryan, according to Efe.
07.38 Concern about the appearance of new strains of coronavirus in the world
Concern about the rate of vaccination in Europe joins concern about the appearance of new strains in the world,
from the United Kingdom to South Africa, passing through the Brazilian Amazon
.
The Brazilian strain was already detected in Japan.
The WHO emergency committee urged the international community to
expand genomic sequencing of the virus
that causes Covid-19 disease and to cooperate by sharing data to fight mutations.
07.31 WHO calls for coronavirus vaccination to be generalized within "100 days"
The hopes in the world to turn the page of the pandemic are pinned on vaccines, of which
at least 35.61 million doses have
already been administered
in 58 countries and territories
, according to an AFP count from official sources.
These vaccination campaigns have to be generalized around the world,
"in the next 100 days,"
demanded the director general of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
"Vaccines are rapidly reaching high-income countries, while
the world's poorest have none,
" warned however the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres.
A day after promising a financial stimulus plan of 1.9 million dollars, the president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, promised this Friday to accelerate the vaccination campaign by establishing "thousands" of community centers.
For its part, the Pfizer laboratory dampened hopes in Europe
by announcing that its vaccine deliveries will slow down in the coming weeks due to changes in the production process at its Puurs factory in Belgium.
"Pfizer is working hard to deliver more doses than initially planned this year with a new declared target of 2 billion doses in 2021," he justified in a communication sent to Afp.
07.30 Worrying rise in coronavirus infections in Spain in the last week
Of the 2,000,066 deaths since the discovery of the coronavirus virus in China in December 2019, Europe appears as the worst-hit region with 650,560 deaths, followed by Latin America and the Caribbean (542,410) and the United States and Canada (407,090), according to the latest Afp count.
Europe surpassed 30 million infections on Friday and, among the countries that experienced worrying increases in the last seven days,
Spain
stands out
, where cases increased 168%
.
But the situation
is also serious in Germany
, where the two million infected were exceeded on Friday.
The country added 1,113 deaths in the last 24 hours and the death toll is close to 45,000.
France advanced two hours, at 6:00 p.m., its curfew from Saturday.
And
Portugal began a new
generalized
confinement this Friday
, although with open schools.
