Around 10,000 people protested against the corona measures taken by the Austrian government on Saturday in Vienna.

The demonstrators lamented the current restrictions and called for the resignation of the government of Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. 

Most of the participants in the rally, including the former Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache, did not wear mouth and nose protection and disregarded the rules of distance.

According to the police, around 500 people took part in a counter-demonstration organized by left-wing groups. 

In Austria there is a hard lockdown until January 24th.

According to the authorities, around 7,000 people across the country have died after being infected with the corona virus.

Meanwhile, it became known that the police in Mannheim broke up a birthday party with 27 guests.

According to the information, witnesses noticed a lot of visitors in the stairwell on Friday evening.

In the four-room apartment, 22 adults and five children were discovered in addition to the organizers, as a police spokesman announced on Saturday.

The officers issued a reprimand, the visitors left.

All those involved were reported to have violated the Corona Ordinance.
