Actress Sarah Jessica Parker in "Sex and the City" -

Landmark / Starface

Over a million dollars per episode is what Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis would have required - and obtained - to reprise their roles in the new season of

Sex and the City

just announced by HBO Max according to

Variety

.

A comfortable salary in anticipation, since this sequel which is already bubbling impatient fans will have 10 episodes.

A salary that may seem amazing, but which can be explained by the fame of the original series.

Moreover, it is no longer rare for streaming platforms to agree to pay six-figure salaries to have big names on the bill for their projects.

Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington asked for no less to star in

Hulu's

Little Fires Everywhere

series.

Great expectations

Anyway, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will also take part in this season called

And Just Like That…

as producers alongside Michael Patrick King.

Filming is slated to begin in New York in late spring.

Obviously given the impact of the original series broadcast between 1998 and 2004, the expectations are immense, but so are the concerns.

What will

Sex and the City be like

without the character of Samantha Jones, Kim Cattrall having refused to participate in the project?

Will the series manage to be as modern as it started out and approach the love life of mature women by avoiding caricatures?

All that's left to do is cross your fingers and polish your Cosmopolitan before the arrival of this new season (or almost) of

Sex and the City

.

Series

Cynthia Nixon is still embarrassed by the lack of racial and social diversity in "Sex and the City"
