A woman infected with the corona virus is said to have flown from Lebanon to Düsseldorf with a fake test result.

According to a tip from a doctor from Beirut, which the German embassy passed on, the plane was parked separately after landing to investigate the matter, a spokeswoman for the federal police reported on Friday.

The 32-year-old German and her 45-year-old partner were found on board and asked to test them.

The negative corona test results they presented were secured as evidence.

According to the doctor from Beirut, the woman had already shown symptoms and had tested positive there.

In order to still be able to fly, she is said to have sent a healthy person with their personal papers for another test and then presented this before the flight.

Criminal proceedings were initiated against the woman from Jülich.

The couple was then released into quarantine in their hometown.

The plane landed in Düsseldorf on Thursday after a stopover in Istanbul.
