Starting today (January 15), the cold wave will gradually show its "cooling" strength. Today, the north will enter the core cooling period. As the cold wave progresses, the south will enter the core period of cooling the day after tomorrow, and the temperature will experience "full reduction". The cumulative temperature drop in about 10 provincial capital cities, including Shanghai, reached or exceeded 10°C.

In terms of rain and snow, snowfall continues today in the Northeast, with heavy snowfalls in some areas. The southern rain and snow have increased significantly on weekends. The public should take precautions when going out.

The cold wave is coming and the temperature in the central and eastern regions will be "big dive"

Since mid-January, the temperature has shown an overall upward trend, and most of them have become warmer. Although it is in the "three to nine days", some places are as warm as March or even April.

This untimely warmth often means that the temperature "full reduction" is about to start again.

As the cold wave advances in the next few days, my country's temperature will drop significantly from west to east and north to south. The Central Meteorological Observatory continues to issue blue cold wave warnings.

It is estimated that from today to the 17th, there will be winds of force 4-6, gusts of force 7-8, and the daily average or minimum temperature will drop by 6~6. 10℃, among which, the temperature in western southern Xinjiang, central and southern Shanxi, eastern northeast, eastern Yunnan, most of Guizhou, and southwestern Jiangnan will drop by 10-12℃, and the local temperature can reach above 12℃.

After cooling down, the recent falsely high temperature will be "back to its original shape."

The key cooling period in the north is concentrated on today, and the cooling period in the south is mainly two days on weekends. The cumulative maximum temperature drop in provincial capital cities such as Xining, Jinan, Zhengzhou, Hefei, Nanjing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Changsha, Guiyang will reach or exceed 10℃ .

Compared with the cold wave from January 6 to 8, the absolute strength of this cold air is weaker, but because the base temperature before cooling is significantly higher, the cooling rate is large.

In previous years, the temperature showed a "roller coaster" change from February to March. It was like this in January this year, which is enough to see how "willful" the temperature is.

Meteorological experts reminded that the temperature has fluctuated recently, and the public should pay attention to adding clothes in time to prevent colds.

Snow continues in the Northeast and a large area of rain and snow hits in the south over the weekend

Yesterday, the northern precipitation was mainly concentrated in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and the northeast, with light to moderate snow, and local heavy snow (5-6 mm) in Liaoyuan, Jilin and Tieling, Liaoning.

Today, there will be general snowfalls in the Northeast, especially in the eastern part of the Northeast, where snowfall has increased.

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that there will be light to moderate snow or sleet in parts of northern Qinghai, Hexi of Gansu, eastern Tibet, eastern Heilongjiang, central and eastern Jilin, and eastern Liaoning. Among them, there will be light to moderate snow or sleet in the southeast of Heilongjiang, east of Jilin, and northeast of Liaoning. Heavy snow in some areas and local blizzards (10-12 mm); light rain or showers in parts of the Sichuan Basin, northeastern Yunnan, western and northern Guizhou.

As the cold air moves southward, the rain and snow in the south will increase significantly this weekend, and the rain and snow will be the widest tomorrow.

It is estimated that from this night to the 17th, there will be light to moderate rain (snow) or sleet in the east and south of Southwest China, Jianghan, the west and north of Jiangnan, and the west of South China. There will be heavy snow or heavy snow in high altitude areas.

During this cold wave, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Hubei, and Northeast China have a wide range of rain and snow, and local precipitation is large. The public in these areas needs to prevent the adverse effects of slippery roads, snow and icing on travel.
