Widely criticized for having organized a wild party that brought together 2,400 people in Lieuron, south of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) for the New Year, party lovers will be in the streets this Saturday.

At the call of several groups, they intend to denounce "a disproportionate repression" against the alleged organizers of the Breton rave party.

Four people have been indicted in this case.

One of them, a 22-year-old man with no criminal record, was remanded in custody, which her lawyer sharply criticized.

"We ask for the immediate release of this participant who is absolutely not one of the organizers", indicates Robin, actor of the movement and referent of the National Coordination of Sounds and of the legal support fund for sound systems.

To be heard, several collectives are calling for demonstrations this Saturday in several cities in France.

In Paris, the movement should join the demonstration against the “global security” law and rallies for culture.

The same reunification could take place in Rennes, where the rally was allowed, but not the parade.

“This mobilization is in full awareness of the extreme gravity of the health crisis.

But we are convinced that this should not be used to considerably limit our rights, our freedoms or to deteriorate the French cultural landscape ”, specifies the Culture4Liberty collective.

The latter demands "the end of all disproportionate legal proceedings against alternative parties".

"The authorities will not be able to prevent free parties"

Nearly 4,000 undeclared techno parties in the heart of nature, which have become the bête noire of the authorities with the pandemic, are organized each year in France.

For Patrick Rognant, rave historian, "the authorities will not be able to prevent free parties where there are very few incidents, much less than in an authorized rock festival".

“In recent years, there has been a slow deterioration in relations between the free parties and the authorities who no longer wish to find solutions”, deplores Samuel Raymond, director of the Free Form association which worked for conciliations, and who recently preferred to throw in the towel.

President of Technopol, the historical association for the defense of electronic music which organizes the Techno-parade in Paris, Tommy Vaudecrane suggests for his part that free parties come under the Ministry of Culture rather than that of the Interior: "the free is first and foremost an important component of the electronic music ecosystem ”.

For the former Minister of Culture Jack Lang, "the dialogue must absolutely resume to define a rule of the game".
