"Apple" will be producing a film about Napoleon

Apple Studios will be producing Ridley Scott's Kitbag, which deals with Napoleon Bonaparte, and stars Oscar-winning American actor Walken Phoenix.


The fictional film centers on the beginning of Napoleon's journey before he became emperor and on the stages of his ascension to power, from the perspective of his relationship with Josephine, who became his wife in 1796, "Apple" told AFP.


The exact date for the presentation of "Kitbag", whose script was written by David Scarpa, screenwriter of "All The Man in the World" in 2017 has yet to be announced


. With this new project, Scott returns to the historical era of his first feature film, The Doilestis (1977) for which he won the prize for first work at the French Festival de Cannes.


The Duelists are set in the Napoleonic Empire era, and actor Harvey Keitel plays a soldier.


As for "Kitbag", the main role is played by the 46-year-old actor, Walken Phoenix, who won an award for the title role in "Joker" during the recent Academy Awards ceremony.

Phoenix will play Napoleon himself, France's most famous Corsican.


Apple has already partnered with the 83-year-old British director and his production company, Scott Free Productions, to produce TV projects for the video-on-demand platform Apple TV Plus.
