Liang Yan, an associate professor at the School of Art and Design of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, said that at first, students painted with acrylic paint, but the colors of cheap raw materials were not bright enough. Later, after continuous exploration, they replaced them with relatively cheap nail polish, which was bright and beautiful.
"In the past, we used more computers to design, and many ideas stayed at the theoretical level. Now we have hands-on operations. In the process of making craft plates, we practice color harmony and are more sensitive to color matching and color perception." Lanzhou Jiaotong University environmental art design student Yang Lili said.
Kou Zixi carefully took the nail polish and painted with a fine brush.
"Through practical operation to strengthen the study and research of theoretical courses, and at the same time exercise the simultaneous use of hands and brains, to enhance their creativity." She said that learning this craft also gives her more possibilities in the future.
If there is a chance in the future, she wants to create a studio to turn her hobbies into a way to support her family.

Liang Yan introduced that the School of Art and Design of Lanzhou Jiaotong University is based on the background of engineering universities, deeply digs into the local cultural soil, establishes art design practice education base, Dunhuang literature and art innovation and entrepreneurship base, and develops special experimental projects of local cultural inheritance and innovation, such as Dunhuang Bai Paintings, Dunhuang prints, filigree sand paintings, lacquer paintings, calligraphy and seal cutting, etc., adopt the practice method of "teaching them to fish, interpersonal communication, and free space" to carry out the intangible cultural heritage skills of the Silk Road culture, and implement students' individualization The classified training plan effectively overcomes the problems of generalization of industrial design standards and experimental teaching "on paper".
Liang Yan said that in the next step, the base will be aimed at students majoring in art and design, solidify the foundation with "teaching", strengthen with "creation", test results with "competition", and be guided by the concept of continuous professional improvement. , To focus on strengthening innovative practices, and create application-oriented senior professional talents with employment competitiveness.
