Placed on the slopes, in the southern suburbs of Toulouse, Vigoulet-Auzil is a residential town that values its tranquility.

This village of about 900 inhabitants proved it during the consultation launched by the municipality "on the possibility of making noise on Sunday".

Out of 248 respondents (240 on the Internet, 8 in town hall), 146, or 58.9%, said "no" to this possibility, the town's website indicated on Tuesday: "At the end of this consultation, results to support, the city council discussed the issue and decided, by majority, not to modify the decree currently in force, which prohibits noise pollution on Sundays.

"

No relaxation of the 2015 municipal decree

The Vigoulétaines and Vigoulétains who demanded a relaxation of this text, dated April 27, 2015, were therefore not successful.

In detail, 28.2% of voters said "yes to noise on Sunday morning and afternoon", 12.1% said "yes to noise on Sunday morning only".

Barely 0.8% leaned towards "yes to noise on Sunday afternoons only".

Sunday handymen must therefore continue to be discreet, and lawn mowers remain at the stand that day.

"The municipal council has in fact considered that the right to rest on Sunday implies an absence of noise, and that it is fundamental to preserve this, for the comfort and quality of life of all", informs the site of the town hall.

This measure also applies to public holidays.
