At the end of 2020, a group of wild Asian elephants entered the territory of Mojiang County, Yunnan Province for the first time. In Mojiang County, the family once again gave birth to an elephant baby, and the number of families became 18.

Recently, this group of Asian elephants continued to migrate northward into Tongguan Town, Mojiang County.

  While passing through the village, this group of Asian elephants broke into the villagers’ homes and scattered freshly picked coffee, dried corn and other crops on the ground. The tables and other furniture in the house were overturned.

  According to reports, in March 2020, this group of 16 wild Asian elephants migrated northward from Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province into Pu'er City, and traveled north along the Simao District and Ning'er County of Pu'er City. The elephant gave birth to a baby elephant.

  On December 17, after the group of elephants entered the territory of Mojiang County for the first time, they gave birth to another baby elephant, and the number became 18.

At present, Mojiang County has strengthened early warning and prevention by hiring villagers as monitors to strengthen tracking and monitoring.
