Kawasaki City, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, will conduct training assuming a mass inoculation venue in late this month for the vaccination of the new coronavirus, which the government aims to start by the end of February.

The government is aiming to start vaccination against the new coronavirus by the end of February, and the municipalities will be responsible for the vaccination.

Regarding this, Kawasaki City announced at the countermeasures headquarters meeting held on the 12th that it will conduct training assuming a mass inoculation venue with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on the 27th of this month.

The training was held at the gymnasium of a junior college in the city, and doctors and city hall staff participated to confirm the flow from reception, vaccination, and follow-up to the site after vaccination, and it was decided. It also means verifying how many people can be vaccinated in time.

In addition, since some vaccines need to be stored at extremely low temperatures, we are considering bringing a dedicated freezer to the venue to check how to handle them.

The state of the training will be recorded in a video, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will inform local governments nationwide of the results of the training and identified issues.

Norihiko Fukuda, the mayor of Kawasaki City, said, "No one has ever experienced vaccination against the new coronavirus, so I would like to work to serve as a reference for local governments nationwide."
