After a shitstorm on the Internet against a dentist because of a vaccination campaign for his employees, the police see no threat to the doctor for the time being.

The dentist from northern Upper Bavaria has been massively criticized and attacked on social media since the weekend after he urged his employees to have a corona vaccination.

"We do not see a current threat," said Karl Höpfl from the Ingolstadt police headquarters on Tuesday.

The dentist had been advised by the police and has not yet filed a complaint.

The dentist, who runs two practices with a colleague, organized vaccination appointments for his entire team on Saturday according to a report by the “Donaukurier” and explained to the employees that everyone would be vaccinated.

"Those who do not want the vaccination will be released from work without a salary," the workforce is said to have been informed.

The doctor then told the newspaper that although the message was not well worded, he was still behind the action.

Since the trouble, the practice has largely gone into hiding

In response to a telephone request from WELT, the doctor could not be spoken on Monday - he is basically no longer available for comments.

The contents of the clinic's website had almost completely disappeared on Tuesday: “Our website is currently being revised”, it read.

A Facebook page that was still active a few days ago also no longer existed.

The dentist is now being massively attacked on internet platforms, and his vaccination campaign is sometimes even compared to the terror during the Nazi dictatorship.

Sometimes the employees of the practice are also insulted.

In some cases, the doctor's name and photo are posted.

But some also show understanding for the doctor: "I would not want to go to a dentist whose team does not get vaccinated," writes a user on Twitter.

In the meantime, politicians are also discussing whether there should be compulsory vaccinations for certain professional groups such as geriatric nurses.

In the case of the dentist, critics also call for criminal charges against the practice owner.

A first complaint with the accusation of coercion is now available and is being examined, said police spokesman Höpfl.
