Basically, the interpretation of the data is currently difficult because around Christmas and the turn of the year corona cases were discovered, recorded and transmitted with a delay according to the RKI.
“In the last few days the number of cases has increased again.
Whether this trend will continue beyond the expected follow-up tests and late registrations will only become apparent in the course of the next few days, ”the RKI announced at the weekend.

According to the RKI report on Monday, the nationwide seven-day R-value was
1.14
(previous day:
1.18
).
This means that 100 infected people theoretically infect 114 more people.
The value represents the occurrence of the infection 8 to 16 days ago.
If it is below 1 for a long time, the infection process subsides.

In contrast to the information on new infections, the number of intensive care beds occupied by Covid 19 patients is independent of the weekly rhythm.
How many people were newly infected with the pathogen is not immediately clear on and after weekends due to the delay in data transfer.
On the other hand, the number of intensive care beds occupied cannot provide any reliable information about the course of the pandemic.
The rate of occupied beds can fluctuate for various reasons - for example, because the average treatment duration for intensive care patients changes.

This week, all teachers are also to be vaccinated.
According to information from Oxford researchers, no other country is vaccinated against corona as quickly as in Israel.
A graphic on the website “Our World in Data” compares different countries according to the number of doses administered per 100 inhabitants.
There Israel was clearly ahead on Monday with 21.38 cans per 100 inhabitants.
It is followed by the United Arab Emirates with 11.8.
That is how many doses of vaccine have already been distributed per 100 inhabitants in the individual countries

With a value of 0.73 (as of January 10th), however, Germany is only 13th in this table. Several countries, including Italy, Slovenia, Spain and Estonia, now have a better vaccination rate.
